Continental Airlines inaugurated its new flight to Tokyo yesterday from its hub at Newark International Airport. The airline said the flight to Tokyo's Narita International Airport is a daily departure. It plans to begin flying between Houston and Tokyo on Jan. 31.
A spokeswoman for the Houston-based airline said Continental had not flown to Japan since September 1991, when it ended flights between Seattle and Tokyo shortly after filing for bankruptcy a second time.
Continental is among several United States carriers starting new service to Japan following a new bilateral aviation agreement reached between the United States and Japan earlier this year.
